Soundtracks for heartaches - K-ballads

안녕하세요!

Yes! I'm learning Korean! However I'm kind of an "extreme beginner" hihihihi But I will talk about this in another post.

I was planning this post for soooooo long, but I was really stuck. Sometimes I have a giant difficult to express myself in words. I like to write, despite not having a perfect English, but when I see it as a task or obligation, my brain got totally blank... But here I am trying my best. So let's go!

Originally, I didn't like k-ballads, maybe it's because I prefer faster and funnier songs. However, when I've started watching Korean dramas, without knowing I was mesmerized with this music style. Than I realised that most of my kpop idols usually sing k-ballads. One example is Severely (지독하게) from FT Island (에프티 아일랜드) - sorry FT Island's fans, for me this music IS a rock-ballad. When I first saw FT Island performing this music on stage, I unwittingly cried. I was a passionate performance that you can watch below. Its MV was beautiful too (link here). And about K-rock?

Hi again!

OK OK guys. I told you I would talk about k-pop a lot, but to be real, I think that I like everything that is Korean. So, the last post was about k-indie, and this post will have a pinch of k-rock.

Have ever listened to Jaurim (자우림)? What are you waiting for?

It was only recently that I bumped into this rock band. I was watching a Korean drama (To the Beautiful You) when a music from this group started to play in the background. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find the exactly song, but I found other ones really interesting. So, take a look in their MV below and the lyric in English here. Have you ever listened to K-indie music?

Hi, everyone!

This post's soundtrack is "If You Really Love Me" (정말로 사랑한다면) Busker Busker (버스커 버스커), Although it isn't a k-pop music, it's a really beautiful k-indie music and its MV can be seen below.

This is the second or third k-indie music that I ever listened and it's really touching. Its melody is better than its lyric (which is also great), but if you want to follow the English translation of it, you can go to this link. You can buy this and other musics from BuskerBusker on iTunes.

Its melody arouses in me the memory when I was in college riding my bike through the campus... Peace with a pinch of loneliness and heartsore was the feeling of that moment. It really wasn't a bad or sad moment. It was that kind of pain you miss when you remember it.... Okay, it is hard to explain, just try to figure it out! And about you? What does this music awakens in you?
